Faculty’s annual online careers clinic for women is back!
09 May
THE “Women at the Scottish Bar” online careers clinic returns next month, where current female members of the Bar will have confidential conversations with women keen to explore a career as an advocate.
“Encouraging women to call to the Scottish Bar remains a key focus for us, and I am delighted that our annual online careers clinic for women will take place again this year,” said Ruth Crawford KC, Treasurer at the Faculty of Advocates.
“I would strongly encourage all women interested in a career as an advocate to attend. It provides an invaluable opportunity for our female members to chat with aspiring advocates about life at the Faculty of Advocates and how to plan their journey to the Bar in a confidential setting. It also gives Faculty the chance to dispel any myths and address any concerns potential advocates might have. We get to listen to and learn from potential future advocates about what more we can do to promote and encourage diversity and inclusion so that Faculty is representative of the society it serves,” she said.
The clinic will take place during the evening of Wednesday 4 June 2025. Appointments will be conducted virtually via Zoom and treated in strict confidence.
Any female trainee or qualified solicitors in practice in either Scotland or another jurisdiction are welcome to attend. Please complete the form available here and return it to deans.secretariat@advocates.org.uk by Wednesday 28 May 2025.
