Biography

Bilaal practises in Scotland and Jersey, focusing on public law, commercial dispute resolution and offshore trust litigation.

He is a Panel Member of the FA’s National Serious Case Panel and Commissioner of the Jersey Appointments Commission.

Before calling to the Bar, Bilaal spent several years as Head of Court of Session Litigation at a boutique firm in Edinburgh developing a significant judicial review practice. Latterly, he worked in a leading international law firm defending professional negligence claims on behalf of some of the UK’s largest insurers. He was involved in large-scale litigation before the Commercial Court and acted for a core-participant in the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry.

In his Jersey practice, Bilaal acts for ultra HNWIs, law firms, settlors, trustees and insolvency practitioners in offshore trust and international insolvency litigation before the Royal Court of Jersey.

During devilling, Bilaal gained further experience in the fields of judicial review and professional negligence
