Biography

Liam called to the Bar in 2026 after more than 11 years in private practice as a criminal defence solicitor.

He has extensive court experience at both summary and solemn level with all aspects of criminal procedure, including jury trials, evidential hearings, debates, appeals, bail applications and procedural hearings.

Liam has conducted trials in a wide range of cases involving complex evidential issues and serious allegations, including sexual offences, domestic abuse, violence, misuse of drugs and offences involving vulnerable witnesses and children.

Liam also has experience in childrens’ referral proceedings and family law.

Liam was a tutor on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh in Criminal Court Practice and Criminal Advocacy for 6 years.
