Biography

Karen qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 2007, becoming dual-qualified in England & Wales in 2012. Karen worked as a corporate solicitor in private practice before moving in-house to advise multinational blue-chip companies. Karen provided commercial and pragmatic legal advice to executive boards and senior management teams on commercial dispute resolution, company law, and commercial and competition matters.

Karen possesses broad expertise across commercial, company, and competition law. She has advised on a wide range of commercial contracts and gained valuable experience in contract law, professional negligence and construction during her devilling. Karen also has significant experience in resolving commercial disputes with a focus on alternative dispute resolution and negotiated settlements.

Karen has advised on public and private mergers, acquisitions, restructures and refinances. Having been involved in restructuring during her career, Karen has developed her knowledge of restructuring and insolvency as a practice area during her devilling period.
