Biography
Danielle specialises in public and commercial law. She has extensive expertise in statutory interpretation, legislative drafting, judicial reviews and statutory appeals. She also has considerable expertise in human rights, equalities law and EU law.
Danielle qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 2009 and in England and Wales in 2014.
Before calling, Danielle spent twelve years as a UK Government lawyer, including four years as Head of the Treasury's Statutory Instrument Drafting Branch and a senior role in the Treasury's EU Exit legislation team. She advised Ministers and senior policy officials on legislation relating to pensions, financial services and benefits.
Danielle was lead lawyer at the DWP on litigation concerning the benefit cap and the removal of the spare room subsidy.
During devilling, Danielle gained experience in commercial law, group proceedings, professional and clinical negligence, media law and judicial review.
Danielle has appeared in the Sheriff Court as a Procurator Fiscal Depute and on behalf of Local Authorities.
