Biography
Chris called to the Bar after 12 years as a solicitor.
He practised primarily in criminal litigation. He has extensive experience of trial advocacy in a wide range of matters, including serious violence, catastrophic road traffic collisions, sexual offences and the misuse of drugs. This often involved taking evidence from vulnerable witnesses and expert forensic practitioners.
Outside of court, he has significant experience in the investigation of High Court cases of national interest, with a particular focus on homicide, including child death, and deaths arising out of professional negligence. This spans the formulation of initial forensic strategy through to trial.
Chris has also acted for parents in Children’s Referral proceedings. He has conducted Grounds of Referral proofs as well as appeals against decisions of the Children’s Panel and is available for instruction in that field.
He is also available for instruction in professional disciplinary matters.
