Biography

Edward specialises in criminal law, family law and child law.

Prior to calling to the bar, Edward was a solicitor in private practice for 9 years undertaking criminal court work and family law work on a daily basis. He conducted numerous Sheriff and Jury trials, permanence and adoption proofs and many family law proofs including those involving financial provision on divorce and matters relative to children. He also has experience of conducting juvenile referral proofs, appeals arising out of the children’s hearing system and appeals to the Sheriff Appeal Court for both criminal and civil matters. He has acted as instructing solicitor in Court of Session matters including Hague Convention cases and also in High Court cases including homicide and sexual offences cases. 

Edward tutors in Criminal Court Practice and Civil Court Practice at the University of Edinburgh Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
