THE Faculty has been deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sheriff Deirdre MacNeill, QC. She was 65.

Ms MacNeill was admitted to Faculty in 1981 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1994. She became a non-practising member in 1999 on her appointment as an all-Scotland floating sheriff. She became a resident sheriff in Glasgow in 2000.

Everyone at the Faculty sends heartfelt condolences to Ms MacNeill's family and friends.
