Member to be speaker at Euro human rights seminar

A member of Faculty will help give a Scottish dimension to a human rights seminar aimed at legal professionals from throughout Europe.

Aidan O’Neill, QC, also a member of the bars of England & Wales and Northern Ireland, is one of the speakers at the two-day event in Dublin, “Applying the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union”.

The seminar, on 13 and 14 March, is being staged by the Academy of European Law, and another speaker is Tobias Lock, Lecturer in Law and Co-director of the Europa Institute, University of Edinburgh.

The topics to be covered include: How fundamental rights are protected in Europe, How to apply and interpret the EU Charter at domestic level, and How to exercise the right of access to EU documents.
