New In-house Convener for MHTS

27 Apr

The Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland has appointed Morag Jack, Advocate, to the post of In-house Convener.

Ms Jack already sits as a legal member of the Tribunal and will continue in that role in addition to the part-time position of In-house Convener.

Dr Joe Morrow, QC, MHTS President, said: “I am sure that Morag will bring much to the team at Hamilton (where the MHTS is based) and I look forward to working with her.”

In-house conveners work closely with the President, staff and caseworkers to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Tribunal.

Ms Jack was a solicitor in private practice in Edinburgh before joining the Faculty in 2000. She has a long-held interest in mental health law.
