Biography
Ximena called to the bar in 2013.
A well sought-after junior, she has a busy practice in the areas of human rights, immigration and criminal law. She has successfully acted both for the defence and the prosecution in high profile, complex multiple-accused cases. She is instructed in a wide range of matters including sexual offences, violent crime, serious & organised crime. She has a special interest in financial crime and related civil recovery proceedings. She has acted as Presenting Officer for the Secretary of State for the Home Department in immigration and asylum matters, and represented appellants at First-Tier, appellate and Judicial Review proceedings. She is regularly instructed in a wide range of human rights related issues. She is currently a member of the panel of counsel for the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in Scotland.
