Biography
Neil called to the Bar in 2023 following 13 years’ experience working as a solicitor in private practice and in-house for a global renewable energy company.
Neil specialises in commercial dispute resolution including contract, construction, company law, defamation, arbitration, real estate, professional negligence and insolvency.
He developed particular expertise in financial disputes during his time working for an award-winning boutique law firm and then a leading international law firm. He was lead solicitor in several high-profile reported Court of Session cases.
As a solicitor, Neil appeared in debates and proofs in the Sheriff Court, Employment Tribunal hearings, arbitration proceedings, and a reported Sheriff Principal appeal.
He is WS Society Signet Accredited in commercial litigation and in 2017 was granted extended rights of audience. He is currently the Course Organiser for the University of Edinburgh’s DPLP construction law elective and tutors contract and unjustified enrichment in the University of Edinburgh’s School of Law.
