Biography
John MacGregor specialises in public and commercial law.
He has significant experience in public law and has acted in a variety of judicial review, public procurement, planning, proceeds of crime and freedom of information cases. John is ranked by the legal 500 for Civil Liberties, Human Rights and Public and Administrative Law and by Chambers & Partners for: Civil Liberties and Human Rights, Public and Administrative Law and Public Procurement. He is described by Chambers & Partners as “...a robust and unflappable advocate" and “...one of the very best public law juniors."
John has been instructed in a wide range of commercial disputes, including litigations concerning commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, commercial leases, banking, professional negligence and product liability.
He has been a standing junior counsel to the United Kingdom Government since 2009 and was appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s panel of counsel in Scotland in 2015.
