Biography

After instructing counsel in the Orkney Abuse Inquiry John joined the Bar in 1993.

Whilst gaining experience in a broad civil practice John’s primary focus remains in the Family Law Field. He has been involved in cases regarding children, including Adoptions, Permanence Orders, Children's Hearing Referrals, Child Abduction and Contact and Residence Disputes. He has also dealt with financial provision following upon the end of relationships, including cohabitants claims.

John also regularly sits as a Legal Assessor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
