Biography
Gary Allan KC practised as a solicitor in leading commercial and litigation practices for thirteen years before calling at the Bar in 1994.
He has practised mostly in the field of criminal law and has acted in numerous serious and high profile cases both at first instance and on appeal. Gary has acquired well merited recognition for his expertise in serious crime, serious organised crime, white collar, regulatory, and financial crime, including Proceeds of Crime Act and Bribery Act matters.
He served as a Senior Advocate Depute in the Crown Office between 2007 and 2011. He was Crown Counsel advising the COPFS Health and Safety Division.
He is admitted to the List of Counsel before the International Criminal Court.
He has represented private individuals, public bodies, companies, directors, partners, and managers.
He has wide experience of appearing before employment tribunals and fatal accident inquiries.
He regularly appears before a wide range of disciplinary tribunals, including those governing teachers, health and social care professionals, accountants, solicitors and professional and amateur sports clubs and players.
