Biography

Mr McShane has appeared in a broad range of litigation in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session (Outer and Inner House), and the Supreme Court. 

This has included appearances in both ordinary and commercial actions in the Court of Session, and in the Sheriff Court he has appeared in debates, summary applications, proofs and appeals, as well as having Fatal Accident Inquiry experience. He has provided advice and opinions on a broad range of civil matters. In the course of his practice the range of matters which he has appeared in or provided advice on includes; adults with incapacity (including questions related to powers of attorney);  administrative and public law; bankruptcy and insolvency; building; consumer credit; contract and commercial disputes; defamation; European law; fraud; industrial relations; leases; maritime; misrepresentation; negligence; nuisance; partnership; personal injuries; prescription and limitation; professional negligence; property (both movable and heritable); succession and trusts; unjustified enrichment.
