Biography
As a solicitor, Colin trained in criminal defence and completed 15 months as a post-qualified assistant solicitor.
He acted for clients funded via the Scottish Legal Aid Board and privately. He appeared in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. He regularly instructed Counsel in the High Court at first instance and in the Appeal Court.
As Procurator Fiscal Depute Colin prosecuted cases involving violence, sexual offences, misuse of drugs, firearms, dishonesty and under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Colin has a keen interest in Crime; Public and Fatal Accident Inquiries; Public Law, including Judicial Review and Human Rights; and Professional Liability and Regulation.
