Biography

Bryan Heaney enjoys a practice across a wide range of subject areas and his interests are detailed on the Westwater Advocates webpage.

Bryan has been a standing junior to the Scottish Ministers for more than ten years, dealing with cases on topics as diverse as agricultural subsidies, land valuation and recovery or proceeds of crime (to name but a few). This has given him invaluable experience in public and administrative law.

Bryan has been involved in numerous substantial personal injury and clinical negligence cases including claims for catastrophic injury.

Bryan is a Legal Assessor to the General Teaching Council for Scotland Fitness to Practice Panel. He is the secretary of the Faculty of Advocates, Trusts, Fiduciaries and Executries Group and is a reporter for the Times Law Reports and Lloyd's Law Reports (Financial Crime). He writes the Court of Session Cases column for Green’s Civil Practice Bulletin.
