Before turning to the law, Brian ran a multi-award-winning business.
Starting his LLB at Glasgow University in 2009, he came top of his year.
Since calling in 2015, his commercial and contractual experience includes construction of contract; implied terms; personal bar; potestative conditions; unenforceable contracts; frustrated contracts; unjustified enrichment; loss of profits; penalty clauses; Sale of Goods Act 1979; partnership issues; rectification; personal guarantees; bank loans; and building/construction. Property experience includes construction of title; real burdens; timeshares; landlord/tenant; encroachment; matrimonial property; disputed common property; and liferents. Professional negligence experience includes IT, legal services and property services. IP experience includes passing off; copyright; trademark infringement; breach of interdict; and contempt of court. In insolvency he has experience in sequestration, protected trust deeds, liquidation and administration and has acted for liquidators and administrators in section 242 and 243 actions. He has also acted for judicial factors (appointment, discharge, note for special powers).
