Biography
Alyson brings to her practice at the Faculty of Advocates considerable advocacy experience sound judgement and a methodical approach to case preparation gained from her 21 years as a public prosecutor.
Alyson was a member of the Crown Office Lockerbie Team and undertook other specialist posts within Crown Office. She was an Indicter in the High Court Unit and thereafter worked in the Appeals Unit. Alyson spent a period of time in the Office of the Advocate General advising on devolution issues. In both offices Alyson worked on appeals proceeding in the UK Supreme Court.
Since calling in 2014 Alyson has been well instructed as a Crown Junior in cases of murder and in cases of rape and sexual abuse involving vulnerable witnesses. She has been instructed in her own right in a number of sentence appeals. Alyson has recently been appointed as an Ad Hoc Advocate Depute.
