Biography
Alistair called to the Bar in 2022 as a Lord Hope Scholar following 5 years practising as a solicitor, primarily in civil litigation.
Prior to devilling, Alistair worked in-house on matters concerning the regulation of care services. In this role he advised on both the civil and criminal aspects of the regulation of care services.
When in private practice, Alistair focussed primarily on matters relating to family law, data protection, privacy, freedom of information and property disputes. He has a particular interest in data protection and freedom of information law.
In relation to freedom of information matters he has advised public authorities and requesters in relation to appeals, the application of exemptions and technical requirements of the legislation.
In respect of data protection matters, he has advised both data controllers and data subjects and acted in claims for compensation and other orders under the data protection legislation.
