Biography

Alan was a solicitor for 9 years prior calling to the Bar in 2006, throughout his career Alan has specialised in Public and Administrative Law, with a particular emphasis on Human Rights, Immigration and Asylum, Social Security and Housing Law.

He is widely recognised as one of the leading juniors in his field at the Scottish Bar and is the only Petitioner’s Counsel to be ranked by both Chambers UK and the Legal 500. He is especially “praised by market commentators for his experience in judicial reviews” (Chambers UK 2015). Alan also sits, part-time, as Immigration Judge (2000 to date).
