Mackinnon Advocates
About us

www.mackinnonadvocates.co.uk

Mackinnon Advocates is the only Stable of advocates based in the city of Glasgow. The Stable was established in its original form in Edinburgh in 1990 but relocated to Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, in 2007.

Glasgow is the natural base for Mackinnon Advocates enabling us to provide the best of service for our clients. However, our position here does not restrict us from operating in the rest of Scotland and other parts of the UK where appropriate and our members regularly appear in a professional capacity in many parts of the country.

We are a group of advocates at all levels of seniority, each member remaining an entirely independent legal practitioner. We provide representation for clients in courts of law, tribunals, hearings and enquiries at all levels, not just in Glasgow but throughout the country.

The majority of members are criminal practitioners with the group including some of the pre-eminent advocates practising criminal law in Scotland today. They provide representation for a wide variety of clients in The High Court, Sheriff Court and Court of Criminal Appeal, offering a high standard of advocacy and a wealth of experience and expertise.

A number of our members also practise in civil law covering a diverse area including employment law, property law, human rights, medical negligence, family, child welfare law, disciplinary tribunals, sports legislation, immigration, maritime, fatal accident inquiries and judicial review.

The Stable along with all others affiliated to the Faculty of Advocates benefits from extensive back up from Faculty Services Ltd - the Faculty company which provides for the issuing and collection of fees, a credit control service and various other support functions.

We are proud to say that we offer an excellent standard of service, ensuring an outstanding level of commitment to our clients. We put people first and can confidently assert that we provide advocacy at its best for all of our clients.

We accept instructions in both legal aid and private client cases. Please contact our Practice Manager in the first instance to discuss instructions and prior agreement on fees.

For further information, included detailed profiles on each of our members and our practice areas, please visit our website at www.mackinnonadvocates.co.uk.
