Mental health caselaw has grown in the recent years and this seminar, presented by an experienced Convener of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland, will offer a timely review of the caselaw in Scotland, England and Wales and in Europe.
After attending this seminar delegates will have an understanding of:
• the caselaw of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland, Sheriff Court and Court of Session
• the relevant English caselaw and implications for Scotland
• the principles emerging from the Strasbourg caselaw
Speaker: Scott Blair is an advocate with the Murray Stable with a strong interest in public law. Much of his work lies in the field of administrative law with a strong emphasis on licensing law, local government law and human rights. He has acted in many public law cases at all levels and has particular experience of judicial review work. He is the author of the textbook "Scots Administrative Law:Cases and Materials.
