Course Summary

This seminar will focus on finance and financial issues, largely approached from the aspect of advising parents or grandparents of a vulnerable adult, including arrangements for finances after they themselves have died. Topics to be covered will include:

• Legal capacity

• Adults with Incapacity Act

• Use of trusts

• Taxation

• Legal rights

After attending this seminar delegates will understand the most important issues to consider when advising families with vulnerable adults.

Speaker: Murray Burns has dealt with private client work for three decades and was previously a partner in, then consultant to Balfour + Manson’s Private Client Department. Within this field his particular interests are tax and trusts. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
