Vincent began his career in private practice in 1997 with Ballantyne & Copland and then Levy & McRae, working in conveyancing, executries, civil and criminal litigation.
He then joined the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in 2001. After spells in the Glasgow Office and the Appeals Unit at Crown Office, Vincent joined the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague in 2005. Thereafter Vincent returned to Crown Office’s International Co-operation Unit and split his time between Edinburgh and The Hague as the COPFS representative at Eurojust, the EU's judicial co-operation office for serious and organised crime. In 2011 Vincent was appointed the Scottish FA's first Compliance Officer responsible for enforcing the disciplinary rules within Scottish football through the Judicial Panel tribunal process. He is a regular contributor on BBC Radio Scotland in respect of football discipline matters.
