Biography

Neil Kinnear has a wide-ranging commercial practice with particular expertise in commercial law, contract, delict, unjustified enrichment, landlord and tenant, and heritable and moveable property law disputes.

He has significant experience in disputes concerning trusts and succession, bankruptcy and insolvency, valuation for rating, partnership, personal injury and professional negligence.

He has appeared in a variety of cases in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts, and in valuation for rating cases in both the Lands Tribunal for Scotland and before Valuation Appeal Committees.

He also provides urgent advice to clients, which includes advising upon potential disputes before they reach the courts, and helps to negotiate settlements.

He is a lecturer and tutor in both Civil Litigation and Advanced Civil Litigation at the Glasgow University Diploma in Legal Practice, a frequent speaker at legal CPD seminars, and a contributor to the Stair Memorial Encyclopedia Re-issue series.
