Mary Loudon has acted in high value divorces, adoptions (acting for both local authorities and parents), child abductions, actions involving parental rights and responsibilities, actions between cohabitants and adults with incapacity matters.
Before coming to the bar, Mary Loudon worked as a solicitor in Edinburgh for around 25 years. She was a partner in an established firm for a number of years. She tutored at Edinburgh University in Civil Advocacy; she was one of the first solicitors to be accredited as a Family Law Mediator; she was an accredited Family Law Specialist and spoke at various conferences on family law. Since coming to the Bar, she has continued to specialise in family law.
She is regularly appointed as Court Reporter in child cases. She practices in the Court of Session and appears throughout Scotland in Sheriff Courts.
