Biography

Marcus has a specialist planning and environmental law practice involving a combination of court appearance, public inquiry and project consent advisory work. He is retained by SSE plc in relation to renewable energy generation and electricity transmission projects.

In recent years Marcus has been regularly instructed in judicial reviews of consents for significant energy projects, most recently as junior counsel in the Supreme Court case of Sustainable Shetland v Scottish Ministers (in relation to the Viking wind farm project on Shetland). He was also junior counsel for the energy companies at the Beauly-Denny public inquiry.

Marcus is a former standing junior to the Scottish Government. He is recommended in the Legal 500 as a leading junior at the Scottish bar in the field of planning, environmental and licensing law.
