Biography

Laura called to the Bar in 2003 specialising in Personal Injury litigation for pursuers and defenders.

Qualified as a solicitor in 1987. Litigation Partner then Senior Partner at specialist PI firm. English law qualified 1992. Consultant to Drummond Miller 1998 - 2003. Elected to Board of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, (APIL) and Vice Chair of the International Section of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA). Laura has extensive experience of complex, high value cases including catastrophic and brain injury claims, industrial diseases (asbestos, VWF, deafness etc) and medical and dental negligence. Her particular interest is product liability including food poisoning, organophosphate exposure, silicone implants, steroids, DePuyhip implants and CJD. Laura was junior counsel for the pursuer in the only publicly funded action in the world against the manufacturers of the drug Vioxx (COOPER V MERCK) which settled shortly before proof set down for 4 months in 2013.
