Land Law

Lachlan's (Lachie's) main continuous areas of involvement have been in property litigation (including boundary and servitude right disputes), commercial and domestic leases, statutory regulation of land use, contract litigation, family law and employment law.

He views the Faculty as serving throughout Scotland. Correspondingly, the vast proportion of his work is at first instance, advising and representing pursuers/claimants and defenders/respondents. Significant portions of Lachie's litigation career have been focused in a substantial number of areas.  As a consequence of his work in the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands, Lachie has also had significant experience in the application of crofting law. He has provided opinions in a wide range of areas from education law to the funding of care costs.
