Biography

Carla was admitted as a solicitor in 2004 and became a Solicitor Advocate in 2014.

She focussed on civil litigation but previously served as a Procurator Fiscal Depute and is interested in the intersection between civil and criminal law.

She regularly conducted appeals, civil jury trials, criminal trials, proofs, debates, and Fatal Accident Inquiries.

Her practice was varied, focussing on reparation work, complex personal injury and property damage, contractual, procurement, commercial and property related disputes.

She has represented public bodies in judicial reviews, human rights breaches, wrongful arrests, malicious prosecutions, criminal and health and safety investigations, FAIs, proceeds of crime, sex offender regulation, firearms licensing and in relation to recovery of information.

As a Legal Adviser to the Scottish Social Services Council and a solicitor member of the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal she gained significant experience of professional regulation.

While devilling she focussed on public law and gained experience of immigration.
